New Frontiers in Numerical Relativity, Albert Einstein Institute, Golm (Germany), July 17-21, 2006

Traditionally, frontiers represent a treacherous terrain to venture into, where hidden obstacles are present and uncharted territories lie ahead. At the same time, frontiers are also a place where new perspectives can be appreciated and have often been the cradle of new and thriving developments. With this in mind, and as we enter a period of dramatic progress in the numerical simulation of the Einstein equations, the numerical relativity group at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI) is organizing a workshop with the goal of exploring and understanding these “New Frontiers”. The workshop will take place from July 17-21, 2006 at the AEI campus in Golm, Germany. The meeting will focus on numerical techiques, tools, “tricks of the trade”, including detailed presentations and ample opportunities for discussion. We aim for a lively mix of students, postdocs, and experienced researchers.
The  11th Marcel Grossmann Meeting will be held the following week in Berlin and many of the participants will take part at both meetings.

The participation to the meeting is open to anyone but a list of invited participants has been made and is available on the web site. If you plan to participate please register and indicate if you would like to give an oral presentation or to present a poster. The deadline for registration is April 30, 2006, and the program will be readied soon after the deadline.
