Computer resources of the numrel group

Peyote logo

The group uses a number of clusters dedicated to numerical relativity simulations and located in the large computer rooms at the AEI. There are presently three clusters: Damiana, Belladonna, and Peyote, with Damiana being the most recent and most performant of the four. All clusters are managed OpenPBS as queuing system. MPICH over gigabit ethernet and infiniband as well as LAM can be used as message passing communication layers for parallel applications. The OpenDX toolkit has been installed on peyote in order to visualize data generated during parallel Cactus runs.

The NumRel clusters are administered by Nico Budewitz. More details on the setup and usage of the clusters can be found on our AEI supercomputers and NumRel clusters web pages.
